If you have followed my blog at all, you may remember that back in March I started a 365 photo a day project. I used to post the weekly updates, but it never felt like the right venue for me to display my daily photo journey. In fact I haven’t shared for a while here. While I will, most likely, post some of my favourites when my year is over, I did feel like sharing this one today. …
This bear has been in our family for a long time. Almost thirteen years in fact. It was my oldest son’s bear given to him by his grandfather at the hospital when he was born. The bear stuck with our family, even though our lives radically changed and members came and went. When my second son was born, the bear became “his” and hasn’t left his side since.
They say every picture has a story, and it’s true. This one is significant to me because it represents how we can be connected in different ways to people, how much everything stays the same despite the changes, and how something as simple as a teddy bear can mean more than simply a stuffed animal.
The bear is well loved and ragged, but I can’t wait to see how he is greeted by the next generation of family.
