A New Tiny Light Session

As you may recall from previous posts here and here , I am fortunate enough to be a volunteer photographer with the Tiny Light Foundation. They are an amazing organization who helps to build memories for families who have a child with a life altering diagnosis through family portraits.  Often in the struggle to get children to and from appointments, doctors, follow ups, days, months or years can pass before parents can catch enough of a breath to organize pictures.  That’s where Tiny Light comes in to help out – and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. A few weeks ago, I got an email telling me about the Tiny Light in the pictures below. I followed up with mom right away and we organized a studio session for her son as soon as we could. It was such a pleasure to be able to photograph the little guy with his mom, aunt and uncle and the love this family felt for each other was amazing.  His family has a tradition of getting pictures done in a sailor suit  – his grandfather has one, his mom has one and now he has one (though by that time he was sound asleep :)). I love it when families bring things like that to a session. It really does make it so much more about who they are as a family and helps me to tell their unique story 🙂

Here’s a little glimpse into their session…

Happy Family Day Weekend!!
